EDIT
Fixed his eyes, chin, lips, shirt, and necklace. I like this much better now, hope you do too.
Well this took longer than expected, but i think it was worth it. i wanted to practice doing portraits, if you have a look through my gallery, there is like two, so i felt it necessary to do a new one. I really loved FFVIII, but it just doesnt get the fanart it deserves. Im aware that anything below the face is more rushed, but thats because i wanted the focus to be on his face. Thats why i made his mane even brighter and surrounded his head in saturated blue, it gives the darker tones of his face and hair more of a focused look. Hope ya guys dig.

My goodness! I absolutely love simple portraits like this. His expression is exquisite and you very accurately defined his features as it is shown in the game. I especially enjoyed the way you painted his hair. Many people just give him 'bangs' and I think his entire demeanor has a great deal of depth. Its not very often an artist can turn a very simple pose such as this into an intriguing piece of artwork that can make the viewer wonder 'what is the subject thinking?'
While I do not possess the same talent as you, I might consider adding some more highlights to the fur on his coat, and perhaps bring out his jewelry and the texture of his jacket. I think it would really add to the impact of this painting.
