I have a mac and I hate it! Its close to 3x as expensive, cant play games, cant access a ton of software, other compatibility issues, oh, and my laptop has had to be repaired at least 4x @ the Apple store, totaling over $2,000 if i hadnt bought the extended warranty. I bought a macbook pro specifically for maya on the reccomendation of a teacher and info I found online and then I need an extra tablet and pad just to operate it. I cant do my homework the same way as instructed on a pc. DONT GET MAC

Sorry that happened to you. Ive had the polar opposite experience with my mac. Running 5 years with only one technical issue back in 09, which was fixed for around $100.

Yeah I dont know if I got an especially bad computer or maybe the one I was issued all came with a malfunction. I ordered it in dec 09 and when i looked around online, certain options you choose seemed to give some people issues. Luckily I haven't had to bring it in awhile, but it is super frustrating to use for maya. I'm in rigging right now and the homework instructions are super detailed and I have to go to the school labs half the time to get anything done

I build it myself and there is nothing better than having a monster machine that does everything well with no compromises, but without having to spend "Boutique" prices to do it.

I'm a Mac, through and through. I was a Windows user for many years, and then we had to hous-sit for my Aunt after her wedding. Her husband is a Mac user, and after a day of integration, the when our Windows PC crashed for good, we bought a Mac and I haven't gone back since.

i use a cardboard box of an old pc, it still works, games still work on it.....more or less, and my tablet works with it, therefore i'm pleased with it
