So i spend a bit longer on this character update, since he was the first of the bunch to be created. Feel like he has really come a long way, and im very pleased with this design. I went for a more gladiator look this time around. Made him more muscular, he started out that way, but had since gotten thinner and thinner; no more. There is an easter egg in this one perhaps, perhaps youll need to download to find it.
Oo! over the years, I think this is a great way to improve the design :3
I know you do a lot of great painting work, but in some areas (like his eyes, and his legs) it feels like it's getting "muddy", and that your character isn't popping out dimentionally. Maybe add some rim-lighting to his legs, to help him stand out from the background? And I know he's probably got red demon eyes, but it really feels like they're super sunken in... he's gotta have some glossyness,??
AND BTW... HOW DID YOU DO THAT CHAINMAIL!!! I friggin' love it. It's such a nice touch to his armor, and really FEELS like another texture!
Feet sort of bother me in this one, like I wonder how he stabilizes himself with them. 2009 version; they look more...balanced I suppose? I guess it makes sense from the size of his calves, but to me he looks to top heavy to look balanced on them. Also, I think it's my eyes playing tricks on me from how the feet are, but his legs look longer than usual. Just by a bit.
Also; I do agree with how he reminds me of Basch. Must be those pants and the hair/goatee combo. XD
I love your most updated coloring style A LOT. I downloaded to see all the different brush strokes, and they work very well. Please keep this style up, it's beautiful.
