Edit: I always saw Scyther as a very dinosaur/dragon looking critter with some bug parts. It has come to my attention that others did not see it this way, they saw him as more of bug. This is my interpretation. If you want him more insect-like, you're more than welcome to draw him that way
Always thought Scyther was pretty sweet. Always wished he was actually a better pokemon. This is the Scyther I always wanted. You can see the entire process recording over at My Livestream Channel
Hm, with the reptilian look that a realistic Scizor would have after this Scither, could he be made as a Hydreigon's relative? I mean, Scizors' pincers are very mouth-like and even have fake eyes. Btw, I always preferred Scyther design over Scizor's due the dinosaurish look of the first.
Haha back when I did this I wasn't really thinking about how he would look as scizor. So it would take a few mental backflips to make it work most likely. I'm still not really sure how I would handle hydreigon, not sure if I would go polycephalic or if it would have arms that mimic heads. I would definitely do the hand head mimic idea if it werent for zweilous, who pretty clearly has two heads.
Maybe it could be a seperate organism that has evolved to look like a head and has a mutualistic symbiosis with zweilous? Perhaps they attach to them as deinos and release chemicals into their bloodstream that allows for higher levels of metabolism which allows it to grow into a zweilous while the zweilous protects them? I dunno
Yeah, Zweiloius would block this concept. The closest thing I can imagine to justify its second head is a molted neck+head skin that didn't unfastened the animal, but this don't appears to work at all, the skin couldn't maintain a living posture and there is no motivation to Deinos keep this thing (intimidation maybe, but still absurd ). A multi-headed Scizor sounds interesting too, but problematic to explain how Scyther lost the arms and grew other heads.
