Here is another in my 2009 redesigns of my main orginal characters. I havent colored a picture of this particular character since 2006, so it was a good time for an update. Ive had new designs for her for almost a year, but never got around to implementing them, so this was a long time coming. I really like how far her design has matured.

Info:
Scarlet is not her real name, she gained this nickname due to the large amount of red she wears and her redish hair. She is the captain of her own pirate vessel, as well as an accomplished summoner. She descends from a community of gypsy-like sea fairers, and thusy has an abnormally high aptitude for summoning. She likes arvalis because he never shows any interest in her, this vexes her as she is used to men pining over her and her fair chest.

A very good character design done with excellent skills I must say.
You could tell much from this woman, or at least what she WANT to be told about herself, just looking at her and I can say nothing much else but to praise the artist for this fine piece of art, well done in anatomy, good pose, expression and naturalness in behavior.
The overall of the costume is not anything pretty original but it presents some good details, like her shoes, that at least I missed to see before.
And the drawing is clean with a good cut.
The only criticism I feel to bust out is that I'd like to see more shading on all these fine piece of character design, for I'm sure that an artist like :iconarvalis: would do great things!
However a stunning example of character design with really good impact on the viewer overall.
So, keep up the good work, can't wait to see more of this ;)
What do you think?

your character reminds of one of my characters in my story I am writing about. She wears a lot of red and is a Russian sharpshooter named Crimson (sorry can't tell you the rest of her codename) her real name is Natasha and she is a very beautiful young woman for a 250yro (biological age 18) dhampir.

i do like your character though

Nice shoes. Although they look uncomfortable, as though shes walking in some sort of dancer pose. All. The. Time. I also enjoy the sword, because it's a pretty interesting shape. Very nice drawing.
