Critiques
I really love the complete-un-completeness of artwork like this; it gives it character as you can see the gesture of the lines.
There's an air of maturity about this character that demands respect. If he spoke, you should listen. Plus, you gave him such intense eyes; their darkness relates to the many secrets he probably holds.
This character seems, to me, to be the disgruntled-mentor-type. I'm not sure if that's what you were going for, but if I had to label him, I'd totally say, "He must be the Hero's unwilling martial-arts teacher." Am I close?
I don't mean to say that that he looks mean, but he seems very cautious, like he had be betrayed in the past and is unwilling to go through that again. But, you gave him soft lips and a smooth nose; so I can tell he's a nice person.
Overall, very nice and interesting character!
