Description
Last year I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to work on a dragon book for Scholastic by way of Becker&Mayer Books. I got to take a crack at designing 16 different mythical dragons from all over the world for a book called Sink Your Teeth Into Dragons.
As described to me, the Imugi, a monster of Korean origin, were giant serpents that should they survive to one thousand years old would be transformed into a dragon. When going into this design I wanted to take inspiration from gaboon vipers as they are incredibly dangerous if you agitate them but are fairly benign when left alone. Thats sort of how I saw the Imugi. An ordinarily pleasant creature, however it does possess great venomous fangs if you take one of his french fries(very popular in Korean mythology). Anyways, this is probably completely different than what you imagine when someone says hairy serpent.
