So as the most complicated thing ive ever drawn, i think this turned out pretty cool. This is my lineart for my one point perspective homework. My teacher used the the word "awesome" in regard to it and said it was "well worth the time spent". Kind words i thought for how much i killed myself to get this much done. Like 20 hours of just linearting the sketch over two days while still having to go to school, rough times, but totally sweet. So you guys better like this one, oh and there are three easter eggs hidden in this image, good luck~
What can I say? I'm a sucker for pictures with perspective that involves the viewer. This picture creatively introduces the audience to a world where they are not merely viewing from a third point of view, but as a character right in the action. The illusion of being perched high in the canopy of the city immerses the viewer in a way few pictures successfully do. The line work is also exquisite. Each time I look up from my keyboard, I find more and more details I hadn't noticed before. This picture unfold with a different story each time you view it. The flowers, statues and armor are all excruciatingly and beautifully rendered, and the body language of each character is unique and defining of personality.
My favorite part of this picture would have to be the hands of the statue in the foreground. Critique? The jawline of the male with the scythe bothers me... But Hell. This picture is spectacular and that's just nitpicking right there.
Over all this is a fantastic piece, and I await the day when it shall be colored.
And =arvalis has done it again! A breathtaking view of an imperial city, following the laws of those high above in the castle of the skies. With unparalleled detail and rich characters perched upon every balcony, edge, and stone, it is hard to not see the majestic beauty of this piece, and stare in awe.
The Originality of Eternal Law is defiant all its own. Without a doubt, hands down, and mind put into focus, this is a piece not only unaltered by popular media icons, but also richly crafted from the mind of =arvalis Tools and armor never before fashioned, faces and garbs yet still to be unveiled, and even the billowing carvings etched into the tall skyscrapers from near and afar. None hold a grasp upon the mind's past idea, nor a stake in another's land. These are true details of patience, creativity, and understanding. Many can learn from the planning and craftsmen ship shown into a land such as this. It is what truly earns a artist to be watched.
Technique is, with disappointment, not as impressive as prior drawings. Though it was not long ago we were graced with a highly rich depth of feel image, drawn and lined in the exact manner of Eternal Law above, that art work had compete detail. It may be for future color, or another advancement, but as it is, the castle high above the market street below is rather... barren. You can name characters of prior games in the streets below, line every detail of armor characters adorn, count the petals on the flowers close, afar, and even distant. But even with all of this present, the castle above has little more done to it, than simple outlines. No window panes, no layers of bricks, no lined marble statues, nothing. Not to say the outline is unimpressive, as it allows not only the shape of the castle to be seen, but even docking ships upon it. A slight add of detail above, and the image would follow as flawless.
Vision speaks not only for itself, but to all who ask it. Zoomed in upon, or viewed from afar, the detail and careful planning done to each and ever object in his master piece is defiant. Ancient runes carved into a statue's robes. The twirled roots of a hanging garden. Spun and drawn ribbons of buildings afar. Such details few would ever consider necessary to add, yet even these simple and small touches for a work of art such as this define the amount of time spent in not on planning, but execution as well. Yet as before, the lack of complete detail in the castle far back and above leaves a rather dreary spot upon an otherwise flawless work.
Impact has become, to no surprise, astounding. Simply the close view of =arvalis's OC and the statuette garner a closer inspection from the viewer. And seeing the true masterpiece up close... breath taking. Adding more to say to such a work of art is not only hard, but impossible. What else is there to add for the impact this has other than what is obvious. Outstanding, Detailed, In Depth, Time Staking. These are all to simple words to describe such a scene as above. For what once can call an impact further than already stated, is up to the viewer to think of, for this critic is out of synonyms and adjectives.
Eternal Law, as done by =arvalis, is a breathtaking view of near-no equal. The rich decadence is beyond words, and carefully drawn lines mind blowing. For all who dare to see trek upon such a realm, be wary. For a piece as well done as this, danger lurks in every corridor and alley...
The amount of detail completely blows me away, and the perspective!! This is so amazing!! Beautiful the way the characters have interacted with the cityscape!! Well done!!
