This is a wonderful piece! The tail's a bit thin, but the rest of it looks amazing. I also find it kind of amusing, because the intent when filming the series was to never show too much of the Alien's humanoid figure. Any scenes with too much shown were made into deleted scenes or outtakes.
I actually think this is the worst nightmare of the Alien collection. An Alien being able to focus that immense strength using humanoid support systems. It'd be a straight up brawl against something like this...Only thing that'd make it worse would be human intelligence... x_x..There I go giving myself nightmares and illusions again, but I can't help to wonder. What would a intelliectually(sp ) powered monster like this do in a story. I tend to make characters for photos, often without, and base abilities. ^_^...Something that I'm actually good at as my actual rp abilities is not even third rate. ^_^;.... Though I got to ask. Could I design a character format for this creature? It'd be my pleasure. ^_^
This is a very well drawn peace of work......But at this angle the alien is blocking the veiwers only way out of the hive entence........OMG.....grab the nearest rock and thow it at the alien maybe it will fallow it like a ball LoL LoL X>
It looks more humanoid than the other versions and i think this is the scariest looking one. The other types arent scary, they just seem like fighting types of characters.
This version, probably much closer to how Giger visioned it, makes it look like the monster in your mind, in the shadows, breathing down your neck yet no where to be found at the same time. There is no escape wherever you go. It's all just a matter of time, and during that time you can reflect on your life and plea for the mercy that will not be given, for the swift death when in reality you or your friends will only recieve a swift disaperance. The light at the end of the dark cave adds great symbolism to the picture. It's as if you've been crappy your pants for the last 24 hours, and not the sort to go back and joke around the camp fire. The kind to leave you in a mental institution or at par with war veterans who came back not knowing who they are anymore. So now you finally see the light, your only escape from this dark hell, but then for the first time you look at your pursuer face to face. Not a sound from across your isolated room, not the movement you thought you saw, not the moment when it was busy making off with your petrified friend. It's the moment when it looks straight on at you. Your time has come.
It may have been a mere doodle but to me this seems very symbolic and represents what Alien 1 gave to its audience. The only thing i think would further inhance the feeling would be if the right claw wasnt raised or as open. It could be posed in a way that makes him seem more like Death in alien form.
But regardless this is an instant fav because it definetly says "In space, no one can hear you scream"
I love that I can see the little tendrils in his forearm. Nice little detail there. The tunnel also has a nice gradual pull into darkness...I feel as though I am already at the bottom of a pit and I will soon be Alien fodder...
